The TIG root pass process for pipe prefabrication is the only one that realizes one-side welding with double-sided formation. It is the most advanced process in the industry, requiring less fit-up requirements.
Requirements for TIG welding for root pass:
AVC function for TIG.
Key mechanism: open headstock, which solves the radial and axial jumping during rotation.
Mature welding process experience is essential.
Cold cut process and professional cut and/or bevel machine are required for edge preparation.
The misalignment should be ≤2mm.
Clearance: 0 - 3mm (with or without clearance fit-up).
